Year 6   WELCOME BACK

Welcome back to you all! I hope you and your families all had a wonderful summer break and are feeling well rested. Myself and all the adults who will be working with 6K are very excited to start the new school year: we have lots of things to look forward to.
Our topics for this first half term can b found in the overview that I have attached below. In addition to this, you will find this half term's Key Instant Recall Facts (KIRFs), the year 6 recommended reads and the statutory spelling lists. Copies of these will also be sent home.
Our PE day will now be n a Friday- a reminder that children should come to school in full PE kit, please. On Wednesdays, the teacher working with 6K will be Mrs Nute who I know already knows the children well.
In year 6, children do have the option to walk home if adults at home feel this is appropriate. If you would like your child to walk home, please send written permission into school or via email.
In 6K, the children will be making their own weekly blog to share their learning which will include videos; please ensure all permissions are up to date on Arbor so we can get this up and running as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
We look forward to seeing all the children tomorrow morning.
Many thanks,
Miss Kite

Year 6   Make £5 Grow

Make £5 Grow

HUGE well done to all the Year 6 children for their incredible efforts with the Make £5 Grow project. The groups really showed their creativity with all the different ideas and the determination shown to make their business ventures a success was excellent.

I would also like to thank all the adults at home for supporting the project and helping the children with organising the resources: I know hours were spent in car parks, waiting outside shops and helping out in the kitchen!

The total profit made was £252.75. What a success! The profits from this will be going towards developing the outside area.

Well done to the ‘Sponges’ group for getting Mr Hazlewood and Mrs Spencer in the stocks!

Congratulations to the whole team of ‘Creative Crafts’ who made the most profit- £47.40

Reception 1   Eden Project

by Lisa Nute

Our Year 1 children recently embarked on an exciting adventure to the Eden Project. We enjoyed exploring the awe-inspiring biomes. Guided by knowledgeable experts, we marvelled at the diverse plant life and engaged in the ‘Green Machines’ workshop. The trip instilled an appreciation for nature's wonders and supported our knowledge and understanding of plants.
