Closures and staying calm

These are unprecedented times and I appreciate that there are concerns about what happens next. I am working hard with the Trust and with staff to ensure that we share as much learning resources with you as we can. We are awaiting further information on what next week will look like and what service we will provide. I will be in touch as soon as I can about this.

I attach a document to share with your child if this is helpful,
Kind regards to you all

Spreading Kindness

Positive Role Models

The Anti-Bullying Ambassadors were busy working in Pre-school, Reception and year 1 this week. They worked with the children on building their confidence speaking to each other and sharing what makes them special.

Alas poor Yorick!

It really has been a special week at St Cleer! Trelawny was sung out at full voice, diary writing from various characters' perspective was drafted, children and staff alike donned their Shakespeare inspired outfits and took to the World Book Day catwalk!

Thank you to the children, staff and wonderful parents who really went with it and made the day magical!

Thank you to Mrs Birch who worked with all of the staff to make this Book Fortnight linked to A Midsummer Night's Dream such and enchanted learning experience for us all!

NSPCC Speak Out Campaign

KS1 and KS2 had an assembly today delivered by the NSPCC team. The children had time to explore what being safe means and how important it is to share their worries with a trusted adult.

The children were fantastically behaved and engaged in these sessions. They were very clear about who their trusted adults were and why it is important to share a worry.

The team shared the free NSPCC online support which can be visited at: https://www.nspcc.org.uk/

The childline number 0800 1111 remains a free number for all children to use to access advice and support.

A Midsummer Night's Dream

What a wonderful start to the half term it has been with the launch of our Book Fortnight where the whole school is inspired by this Shakespearean work. I have seen parents making fairy houses, children composing original music inspired by the text, staff creating inspiring displays.

I am so looking forward to seeing the writing that comes from this work next week and the Shakespeare inspired costumes for World Book day on Thursday 5th March.

DEMETRIUS: "Are you sure That we are awake? It seems to me that yet we sleep, we dream."

Anti-Bullying Ambassadors 2020

It was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with these students at Callington Community School for the Diana Anti-Bullying Ambassador training event February 2020. These students take up the mantle as peer supporters and school innovators in our endeavours to be kinder to each other and support kindness when it is most needed. Watch this space!

Awe and Wonder!

EYFS trip to the Aquarium

A picture is worth a thousand words! What a stunning photo that captures the impact that a real life experience can have on a child. Thank you so much to the EYFS team and the parents who ensured that the children brought their learning about the sea (and pirates and mermaids!) to life this week.

Read all about it...

The Cornish Times took the time to celebrate the recent Bridge Schools ECO songs performance at St Martin's Church in Liskeard. It was a magical day. Well done to all of the ECO team children who created the song and to those who performed it on the day.

I am looking forward to seeing how the project evolves.

Life is all about balance...

It put such a smile on my face to see the children begin their Yoga classes with Christina today. Learning to breathe and focus your intention on the moment is one of the best skills a person can have in life.

A life long skill that is a fantastic tool to have in your repertoire.

Cross Country Super Stars!

26 Competitors and Top Spot Contenders!

Really well done to the 26 children who took part in the cross country event last Friday.

We had 3 finish in the top 10! (Ollie 2nd, Jenson 5th & Talula 9th (1st girl!). The children thoroughly enjoyed the bogs and mud!

Thank you for inspiring me to keep running!
