Be determined this VE day!

Thinking of you all and hope you are well. Keep sending your Happy videos - they are looking great!
'When you go home, tell them of us and say,
For your tomorrow, we gave our today.'

Be determined...and the Happy Challenge!

We are all missing school as we know it. Hold tight and as soon as there are any changes to the current arrangements at school we will be in touch. I am looking forward to seeing how many of you will get involved with our Happy Challenge! Stay safe and well.

* Captain Tom Moore has actually raised over £31,000,000! Incredible achievement!

Be determined...on World Earth Day!

I hope you are well on the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. See www.earthday.org/earth-day-2020 for some Earth friendly ideas.

Water Safety with the RNLI

Today we would have welcomed the RNLI to school for a Beach Safety assembly.

The RNLI have a wonderful website with lots of really useful resources if this is something that you and your children would enjoy exploring. It is sectioned into age groups too which is very helpful.

It is keeping me hopeful about a summer where we all might be able to enjoy the wonderful Cornwall coast again together.

Be determined!

Our value for this half term is 'Be determined'. At the start of every half term we talk about our next value together and talk about how we might show it over the coming weeks. I have attached a PowerPoint for you to look at and listen to. There is a sound bite for you in each slide. I hope that you enjoy exploring the word determination and some of the challenges that I have set for you.

I hope that you are all well!

A laugh a day keeps our worries at bay...

I hope this entry finds you all well. In these uncertain times it is important to keep ourselves going. Last night the residents of Lostwithiel stood on their doorsteps to sing their thanks to the NHS and there is a black board (at the end of my garden) with a daily joke that lightens my mood.

Be safe, be well, be kind.

Wishing we were all together at the end of term...

We are at the end of a very busy and very unusual term. It has had its ups and downs - as is life - but we have so much to be proud of. We had a fantastic Book Fortnight as well as a wonderful term linked to the Arts. The classrooms have been full of creativity and interesting learning. It is such a shame that we are not all together to celebrate our termly achievements but I wanted to share an assembly with you and tell you how proud I am of you all - you have worked incredibly hard, have made leaps and bounds in your learning and I want you to know that the staff will be ready to welcome you all back as soon as it is safe for us to do so. You are all in my thoughts and I hope you are all well and are enjoying the lovely spring sunshine. Remember...be kind...and look after each other.

Almost time for lift off!

Follow Mr Jones' Activ8 Workouts! Thank you Mr Jones for sharing this with us...Joe who?!

EMAIL from NSPCC...

We visited earlier this year to deliver the Speak Out Stay Safe programme in your school and I wanted to share with you our support during the coming weeks/months. I thought I would make contact with you at this most uncertain time to offer you some links to support your staff and pupils. I can imagine you are having to deal with a huge workload at present. Please have a look at the NSPCC website for advice on how to discuss the Corona Virus with children and offer them the Child Line number if they are worried and don’t have a trusted adult to support them: www.nspcc.org.uk/kids www.nspcc.org.uk/schools Childline number: 08001111

The adult helpline is 08088005000 help@nspcc.org.uk I wish you and the staff well and please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any support.

Hang on to your hat. Hang on to your hope. And wind the clock, for tomorrow is another day.

E.B. White the author of Charlotte's Web wrote these words in challenging times and they feel apt today. Please remember in the coming days and weeks, we are here if you need us. Please email or call the school next week if you need anything or you just need to talk.
Take care and have a lovely weekend.
Mrs Spencer
