Today we welcomed Serena from the Cystic Fibrosis Trust who delivered a very informative assembly for us all. We learned a lot about what it is like to live with CF and how we can understand it more. We look forward to another #WearYellowtoSchool day in June 2023! Watch the video here to find out more about Cystic Fibrosis and how those who live with it learn to live healthy and active lives!
It doesn't seem so long since we were enjoying our Jubilee picnic. Today at school we joined together to mark a momentous time in our Modern History. The children and staff at St Cleer shared their memories and thoughts of Queen Elizabeth II. As we move from the Elizabethan era to the Caroleon era things will change, but the sense of pride and identity in our community is strong and lives through our school values.
The children thoroughly enjoyed their school games events - they jumped, they threw, they raced and competed to their best ability. Go St Cleer!
What a wonderful day we had at STERTS on Tuesday 14th June! Something we have waited three years to do - and we did it in style. Singing Through the Decades, your children took us on a journey that made us smile, laugh, cry and sing a long! We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them. Thank you for supporting us and making a sold-out performance a real highlight of the year!
Who wouldn't walk 500 miles to come and share these wonderful talents - and that was just the parents, never mind the pupils of St Cleer! Thank you for joining in and going on the journey with us!
It was wonderful to welcome so many friends and family to our community celebration picnic on Monday 6th June. There were scones, crowns and lots of fun!
Thank you for joining us and sharing in the fantastic community spirit that makes St Cleer a very special place to be.
The values of kindness and excellence were evident in all corners of the school!
The artist Keith Sparrow joined us this week and will continue to work with Year 5 and Year 6 in the coming weeks to create a digital magazine for the school. The children started with their initial ideas today and we are looking forward to seeing how the project develops. Keith has been able to work with us as part of the Creative Kernow initiative and the children thoroughly enjoyed meeting and working with him today.
Well done to all of our Cross Country Runners this season who have shown such determination, stamina and resilience. A special thank you to all of the parents who have supported them along the way - rain or shine. 3 of the cross country runners made it through to the county final which is an incredible achievement. I hope that all who attended the presentation event this week enjoyed it. Your parents and school community are very proud of you.
As one of our pupils demonstrated - if life gives you mud, just pick up your shoe and keep on running!
Congratulations to 8 of our wonderful Year 6 students who sang at the Plymouth Pavilions on the 16th March. Songs included Hope, Try Everything and Don't Stop Me Now which reflected their exuberant energy. It was a fantastic feeling to be part of this live performance after 3 years of being unable to do it in this way. The audience loved it and what a great way to showcase the singing talent we have here at St Cleer! A special thank you to Mr Warwick for preparing the children so well and to the families that encouraged their children to go for it and have fun! We are incredibly proud of you!
